Varsity Wrestling vs. Liberty Christian Invitational

The Hargrave wrestling team participated in the Liberty Christian Invitational over the weekend. There were seventeen teams in the tournament and the Tigers finished in 6th place. The following wrestlers participated: 103 Justin Jay – 6th, 112 Seth Spears, 119 Adam Radan – 1st, 125 Patrick Kelley – 2nd, 130 Afsheen Robinson – 4th, 135 Andrew Heiny, 145 John Nelson – 6th, 152 Preston Tanner – 6th, 160 Klaeton Davis, 171 Bert Dye – 6th, 215 William Holton – 6th and 285 John Sterner – 4th. The team returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Roanoke to take on Roanoke Catholic and Patrick Henry HS.

Varsity Wrestling vs. Chatham High

The Tigers were able to improve their dual record to 8-2 with a hard fought victory over Chatham High, 42-41. The following HMA wrestlers recorded victories: 112 Seth Spears, 119 Adam Radan, 125 Patrick Kelley, 140 John Nelson, 145 John Hardin, 171 Bert Dye and 215 William Holton. The Tigers will return to action after the Christmas break when they travel to Lynchburg to compete in the Liberty Invitational.

The Tiger Wrestling team opened their season with a first place finish in the Tiger Invitational. The team scores were: Hargrave 170, Patrick County 152, St. Christopher’s 142, Martinsville HS 126, Chatham HS 110, Rustburg HS 108, Liberty Christian 88, Virginia Episcopal 86.5, Tunstall HS 62 and Fishburne 56. The following wrestlers competed for Hargrave: 112 Seth Spears, 119 Adam Radan 1st (MVP), 125 Patrick Kelley 3rd, 130 Afsheen Robinson 2nd, 135 Teddy Wynne 1st, 140 John Nelson 4th, 145 John Hardin 3rd, 152 Patrick Snipes, 160 Klaeton Davis, 171 Bert Dye, 189 Tyler Klink, 215 William Holton 1st and 285 Jon Sterner 2nd. The Tigers return to action on Friday and Saturday when they travel to Rustburg to compete in the Rustburg Invitational.
