Varsity Basketball vs. Fork Union Military Academy

The Tigers suffered a tough loss at Fork Union on Monday. Leading the way for the Tigers was Andrew McDonald (14 pts., 9 rebs., and 2 blocks), Andrew Pughsley (11 pts., 3 rebs., and 3 steals), and Mark Manning (8 pts., 3 rebs., 4 assist). Victor Ibeh (8 pts. and 4 rebs.) and Nick Barr (7 pts., 3 rebs., 2 steals, and 2 assist) also had solid performances coming off the bench. With the loss Hargrave falls to 3-6 VIC and 4-7 overall. The Tigers return to action on Thursday, January 26th, when they will host the Wildcats of Dan River High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
USA Swimming vs. Groundhog A/BB/B/C Meet (Age Group)

Hargrave Aquatics hosted the popular Groundhog Invitational for second time in two years this weekend. Great racing by Jessica Abbott in the 200y IM and Drew Bennett in the 1650y Freestyle. Ann O'Brian, Chatham Hall, also managed several stellar performances.

The Tigers suffered had tough loss to Roanoke Catholic 61-36. Leading the way for the Tigers was Nick Barr (12 pts., 5 rebs., 3 assist) and Victor Ibeh (7 pts., 10 rebs., and 2 steals) With the loss The Tigers drop to 3-5 VIC and 4-6 overall. Hargrave returns to action on Monday, January 16th, when the Tigers will be travelling to Fork Union. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:30.
USA Swimming vs. Burger King New Year Invitational A/BB/B/C

The Burger King New Year’s Invitational favored several athletes on the Hargrave Aquatics swimming team. 15 members of the team managed to attend the January 4-5, 2004 meet at Virginia Tech’s War Memorial Pool in Blacksburg, Virginia. They also managed to top eight finishes in numerous events. Almost all athletes placed top eight at least once. Four athletes, Jessica Abbott, Jesse Conner, Jason Reese and Joseph Campbell, placed top three in all of their events.

The Tigers suffered a tough loss to the Chiefs of Carlisle. Leading the way for Hargrave was Andrew McDonald (12 pts., 8 rebs., and 4 blocks), Victor Ibeh (6 pts., 6 rebs., and 2 steals) and Andrew Pughsley (9 pts., 3 rebs., and 3 steals). Karson Mott (9 pts., 3 rebs., and 2 steals) also had a solid game coming off the bench. With the loss the Tigers record drops to 4-5 overall and 3-4 VIC. Hargrave returns to action on Friday, January 13th, when the Tigers will travel to Roanoke Catholic. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
USA Swimming vs. 13 & Over BB+ Spotlight Invitational (Trials & Finals)

Hargrave Aquatics placed 12th out of 21 team in this three day event, December 13-14, 2003. The team captured a respectful 281 points. The Hargrave Military/Chatham Hall team was 8th overall, with 659 points. They also captured the 3rd place small team trophy.

The Tigers suffered a hard fought loss to the Bulldogs of Liberty Christian Academy. Leading the way for the Tigers was Andrew Pughsley (18 pts., 3 rebs., and 3 steals), Chris Smoot (9 pts., 2 steals, and 3 assist) and Danny Wrigley (7 pts., 7 rebs., and 2 blks.) Andrew McDonald (5 pts., 7 rebs., and 3 blocks) and Nick Barr (4 pts., 3 rebs., and 2 steals) also contributed with solid efforts. With the loss the Tigers record falls to 4-4 overall and 3-3 VIC. Hargrave returns to the court on Wednesday, when they will travel to Carlisle. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

Hargrave Aquatics sent five members of its team to the SEVA 12 & Younger Christmas Championships December 5-7, 2003, in Ft. Eustis, Virginia. Over 500 athletes and 31 teams from around the state attended the championship.

After a tough overtime loss on Thursday night, Hargrave was able to bounce back and secure a hard fought victory over Westover Christian Academy. It was the Tigers best defensive performance of he year. The Tigers were able to come up with 23 defensive rebounds, 17 steals, and 7 blocks as a team. Leading the way for the Tigers were Nick Barr (13 pts., 3 rebs., and 3 assist), Andrew McDonald (12 pts., 8 rebs., and 5 blks.). Andrew Pughsley (11 pts., 3 assist, and 3 steals), and Victor Ibeh (11 Points, 5 rebs., and 2 steals). Carson Mott (11 points, 4 rebs., 3 steals), Chris Smoot (2 pts., 5 assist, and 2 steals) and Jeffery Oboite (6 pts., 7 rebs., and 2 steals) all contributed with solid performances. It was a total team effort. With the win the Tigers record improves to 4-3 overall and 3-2 VIC. Hargrave returns to action on Monday, January 9th, when the Tigers will play host to the Bulldogs of Liberty Christian Academy. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
